Asked often

Design, architecture, sound, film and software studios from one to forty people, registered in the EU or the UK, that send invoices to clients in other countries.

Your balance is safeguarded: it is kept apart from our own money at the central bank and at two European banks. We don't lend it out. If Ballast closed, the money goes back to you.

You pick a share, say 23%. Each payment that lands sends that share to the pot before it shows in your balance. The pot can be locked until a date, like the day VAT is due.

The mid-market rate you see on any currency site, plus a flat 0.35%. The fee is shown in euros before you confirm. Card payments abroad have no conversion fee.

Yes, on Studio and Atelier. They get a free read-only seat with monthly exports for Xero, Merit and DATEV, and can see receipts next to each payment.

About eight minutes to fill in. Most studios are verified the same day. Some need one more document, and we ask for it in the app, not by post.
